Rangitikei Hunt

Established in 1881, the Rangitikei Hunt is steeped in history and tradition. Their red collar on Forest green coat was registered in 1901, and were among the early Hunts who established the New Zealand Hunts’ Association. Hunting takes place throughout the greater Rangitikei region thanks to the generosity of founding farmers. The descendants of the first Otairi Duncan; Brices, Rowes, Vickers, Simpsons, Graces, still figure largely, continuing the family tradition, while yet another famous name had an unbroken three score years plus of deep involvement with the sport ― Bessie Fullerton-Smith (NZHA Patron, 1974 - 2008).
